People in Need (PiN) supports a medical clinic primarily serving individuals experiencing homelessness in the Virginia Beach oceanfront area. Embedded within a trusted community ministry, the clinic operates alongside essential services such as meals, clothing, and showers—meeting immediate needs while supporting recovery and stability. Together, we help create a pathway toward improved health, dignity, and opportunities for a brighter future.

HRC Academic Partnership

Our embedded medical clinic at the Housing Resource Center (HRC) brings healthcare directly to a unique, all-in-one community hub in South Hampton Roads. By integrating shelter, housing, a health center, dining services, learning facilities, and supportive resources under one roof, HRC addresses the full spectrum of needs for individuals and families experiencing housing instability. This partnership allows us to provide accessible care while supporting long-term stability, wellness, and opportunities for growth within the community.

Pop-up Clinics

At the Virginia Beach Higher Education Center (VBHEC), home to the Ellmer School of Nursing, we partner to host the annual Pediatric Back-to-School event each July. This free event provides school and sports physicals for over 100 local families, ensuring children are healthy and ready for the year ahead. It exemplifies our commitment to accessible, community-centered preventive care.

Mobile Health Clinic

Our Mobile Health Clinic brings essential medical services to rural communities across Western Tidewater, serving multiple locations including Courtland Administration, Paul D. Camp Community College, Southampton High and Middle School, and the Boykins Fire Department. By meeting patients where they live, learn, and work, the clinic expands access to care for underserved populations who face geographic and transportation barriers.

School-Based Health Clinic

The School-Based Health Clinic embedded within J.P. King CTE School in Franklin City provides comprehensive care to students, staff, faculty, and families. Last year, the clinic completed over 350 school and sports physicals, supporting student health, academic success, and overall well-being. This on-site model ensures convenient, timely access to care for the school community while promoting preventive health practices.

Foodbank of Southeastern VA

Our partnership with the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia includes an embedded clinic focused on preventive care, with an emphasis on diabetes and blood pressure screening. The site also hosts a Food is Medicine program, linking nutrition, health education, and medical care while addressing food insecurities to support overall well-being. This integrated approach helps individuals manage chronic conditions, improve health outcomes, and access essential resources in one trusted community setting.
