Our Partners

ODU Community Care is an initiative led primarily by the School of Nursing at Old Dominion University, but we can’t do it alone. Our partners are essential to both the spirit of the project and the ability to continue providing quality health services to the community.

Established in 1967, Nursing is the largest of the five professional schools in the College of Health Sciences. Accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing.

ODU School of Nursing is a leader in distance learning technologies for RN-BSN and graduate nursing programs. We are a leader in the use of standardized patients for clinical nursing education.

A long-standing partnership with the Eastern Virginia Medical School/Sentara Center for Simulation and Immersive Learning enables undergraduate, nurse practitioner/CNS, and DNP students to learn critical health assessment and cultural competency skills by interacting with standardized patients. The School of Nursing is recognized for its strong educational programs that prepare exceptional nurses for professional practice.

Our success is due to a faculty committed to delivering high-quality nursing education using innovative teaching methods that are consistently recognized with College and University teaching awards.
